500px unveils a new app to support photographers

500px, a global photography social network, has launched a brand-new app to support professional photographers. It called RAW, allows users to capture and edit photos in the RAW format. In order to perfect users’ editing process on mobile, this app also offers a variety of post-processing tools, including hue, saturation, and luminance controls.

Besides, RAW prepares lots of top photographers’ preset filters for beginners to learn and apply into their photos. In addition, skilled photographers can create their own custom filters as well.

License your photos

With RAW, photographers can now monetize their masterpieces on phone, by submitting photos to 500px for licensing. Once your photos are sold in the 500px Marketplace, you will earn up to 60% commission on each sale.

On-demand photography assignments

The most interesting feature of RAW is that the app is designed to help photographers land jobs. To be more specific, photographers can sign up to participate in photography on-demand. The company plans to use this feature to support and connect its 8 million photographers to make money in a completely new way.

500px is partnering up with other brands, including Airbnb, Google, and Lonely Planet. In RAW’s next major update, photographers will get notified about assignments nearby.

Currently, RAW by 500px is only available in the iOS App Store, but there is no release date for the Android version.
